Norma Jeane Baker Mortenson, this is her real given name, was born on June 1st, 1926 in Los Angeles.
She had a complicated childhood because of the mental disorders of her mother, who could not take care of her, therefore she was continually foster cared by other families or forced to spend long periods in an orphanage.
Perhaps due to her fragility and insecurity, she tried to find her stability by getting married at the young age of 16 years with a boy a few years older than her, but they soon broke up.
At that time, she was working in a factory producing parachutes, and it was there that during a documentary on women workers in America, a photographer noticed her and offered her a modeling career.
She had a huge success and in a short she conquered the covers of the major fashion magazines and shortly after the entire Hollywood, becoming a sex symbol, which even today, many women take as inspiration.
Marilyn Monroe left us in the night of August 5th, 1962, she was found dead in her house due to a drug overdose.

Non ebbe un’ infanzia facile: a causa dei disturbi mentali della mamma, la quale non poteva prendersi cura di lei, veniva continuamente affidata a famiglie a sconosciute o costretta a trascorrere lunghi periodi in orfanotrofio.
Dovuto forse alla sua fragilità e all’ insicurezza, cercò di trovare una sua stabilità sposandosi alla giovane età di 16 anni con un ragazzo poco più grande di lei, con il quale si lascerà poco dopo.
In quel tempo lavorava come operaia in una fabbrica di paracaduti, e fu proprio li che durante un documentario sulla donna lavoratrice in America, che un fotografo la notò e le propose la carriera di modella.
Ebbe un enorme successo e di li poco avrebbe conquistato le copertine dei magazine di moda più importanti e poco dopo l’intera Hollywood, diventando un sex symbol, a cui ancora oggi, molte donne si ispirano.
Marilyn Monroe ci lascia la notte del 5 Agosto del 1962, trovata morta a casa sua per un overdose.
